Route 10 Bypass/Route 258 Main Street Intersection Improvements
Project Background
This project was initiated by Isle of Wight County and will locally managed by Isle of Wight County Public Works-Transportation Division, in partnership with the Town of Smithfield and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). This project is fully funded through Smart Scale funding.
Project Summary
The goal of this project is to improve the intersection of W Main Street/ US Route 258 by modifying the eastbound and westbound approach by adding an additional turn lane. Improvements will also be made to the Park and Ride lot as well ADA pedestrian ramps will be constructed along the proposed sidewalk along Main Street and at the intersection.

Project Updates
Isle of Wight County Transportation Department is continuing the process of designing improvements to the Main Street at Rt 10 Bypass in Smithfield. Kimley-Horn and Associates has been contracted as the lead project design firm for the project.
